Travel Purpose: business

Positive: The house is clean minus the spiders in the downstairs bathroom. Lots of games for kids, board games, foosball table, football, basketball. TV and DVD player downstairs (but you have to hook up DVD player yourself). Owner is very responsive and nice. My son left his favorite action figure in the house and the owner contacted the housekeeper who found it and kept it safe for us.

Negative: When we first arrived, it had been snowing a lot and we weren't aware that the house was a little into the woods and required us to drive down a somewhat steep hill to get there. Even with our 4x4, we were skidding going down the hill, which was a little scary with small children in the car. We called the owner that we were stuck on the hill and can't get down and he called the snow plow man who showed up right away and paved the path for us and even drove our car for us which was really nice. When we entered the house, we noticed there was no cell service in the woodsy area and the wifi wasn't working. I was able to text the owner and he told me xfinity had a power outage. It didn't come back on until the day we were leaving, so we were without phone use the duration of our stay (3 days). We were there for a wedding so it was unfortunate people couldn't contact us with wedding updates. There are 3 bedrooms but only 1 of them is actually inviting. The bedroom on the first floor (basement floor) is extremely cold and heat doesn't travel well down there. Also the bathroom on that floor is full of daddy long legs. The bedroom on the second floor (main floor) has twin bunk beds so only good for teenagers because its next to the front door and could be too lonely/scary for younger kids. We (2 adults, 2 small children) all slept upstairs in the primary bedroom which is large and cozy and has a daybed there as well for kids but mattress is very thin and hard. The king bed has the softest mattress ever, I was sinking into it and I am only 100 lbs. so I needed to go straight to the chiropractor when I left. Oven has a strong propane smell while using but all the houses in the area run on propane. Bring slippers because the floors are very cold.
